985 crimes of past years were solved: the Investigative Committee held a meeting of the interdepartmental working group
An extended meeting of the interdepartmental working group on the study of criminal cases of past years took place in the central office of the Investigative Committee using video conferencing systems.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the criminal police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Internal Affairs Directorate of the regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee, employees of the State Forensic Examination Committee, the leaders and members of the General Investigative Directorate (GID) working groups on regions and the city of Minsk.
During the meeting, the current state of affairs on investigating and solving crimes of past years was reviewed; the results of the joint work conducted in the first half of 2019 were communicated to the members. In addition, the working group reviewed the progress of the investigation of a number of high-profile murders of the past and determined the directions of their further investigation.
Representatives of law enforcement agencies also exchanged views and developed further ways to improve the investigation and solution of the crimes of past years.
This year, law enforcement agencies in close cooperation with the units of the State Forensic Examination Committee solved 985 crimes of the past years, 124 of which are grave and especially grave.
