Beaten refugees found near Latvian border

On April 15th, a local resident found two beaten foreigners near the Latvian border in the Verkhnedvinsk District. The victims were taken to a health facility and provided with medical assistance.
The investigative and operational team immediately rushed to the scene of the incident.
With the help of an interpreter, the men explained that they wanted to enter the European country through Latvia, but on the way encountered Latvian soldiers who crashed their mobile phones and then brutally beat foreigners with their feet and metal clubs. Based on the already established algorithm, the mutilated people were forcibly expelled to Belarus.
Investigative Committee’s Verkhnedvinsk District Department has opened an investigation into this case.
