The Investigative Committee holds a working meeting with Iraqi representatives
A working meeting with the delegation of the Republic of Iraq was held at the Investigative Committee central office on June 21, 2022.
The meeting was attended by employees of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Border Committee and the "Systemic Legal Protection" Center.
The Iraqi side was provided with information and materials on the progress and results of investigating a criminal case on crimes against the security of mankind, propaganda of war and deliberate abandonment in danger (Article 128, Part 1 of Article 123, Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus), including on the facts of illegal actions committed by officials and other persons of the Republic of Poland, associated with deportation, acts of cruelty, torture, deliberate failure to provide assistance, resulting in the death of victims, in relation to refugees from the Middle East and Afghanistan, including the Republic of Iraq, in connection with their race, nationality, ethnicity, religion when crossing the state border of the Republic of Poland for further transitting to the EU countries.
Belarusian investigators have documented criminal actions against 135 persons – citizens of the Republic of Iraq who were injured as a result of the use of violence and special means by Polish security forces. Also, 3 facts of causing bodily injuries and illegal expulsion from the EU territory to the Republic of Belarus, which resulted in death of victims of Iraqi origin, are being investigated.
The Iraqi representatives were provided with information received during investigation from the Polish soldier Emil Czeczko about mass executions, the secret burial of murdered refugees by Polish military on the border territory of the Republic of Poland with the Republic of Belarus.
