The mechanisms of rights and legal interests of children were discussed in Brest
The Investigative Committee together with the Representative Office of the United Nation Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in the Republic of Belarus held the training workshop “Counteraction to child pornography in the Internet world network: legal aspects and technological capacity” on November 28-29, 2018 in Brest.
The bilateral meeting of representatives of the Investigative Committee, headed by Noskevich I.D. and the Representative office of UNICEF in the Republic of Belarus, headed by Sarvar R.M. preceded the training workshop.
The theme of the meeting was the discussion of the project of long-term plan of cooperation between our agency and international organization, the key directions of cooperation and basic measures for implementation of such plan were determined.
The deputy chief of Administration of the Investigative Committee in Brest Region, Zholnerchik L.N., and the deputy of the Representative of UNICEF in the Republic of Belarus, Akimova G., addressed their opening speech to the members at the opening of the training workshop.
The program of the training workshop stipulated not only theoretical issues, related to carrying out of criminal investigations regarding child pornography and pedophilia, but also the practical work with the use of specialized search systems and software programs. The officers of the central office of the Investigative Committee (Kamenetskiy Yu.F., Suzdaleva G.V.), the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Usarov D.S.), Educational Institution “Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus” (Stodolnik V.V.) and Public Association “Club of Business Women” (Istomova L.N.) acted as the experts.
The training workshop on the problematics of child pornography in the Internet world network promoted the improvement of the mechanism of protection of rights and legal interests of children suffered from sexual violence, involvement to production and distribution of child pornography, as well as updating of proving system of crimes of the category under consideration, their prevention and suppression. The members of arrangement got the opportunity to discuss current problems of law enforcement practice and possible ways of their solution in informal surroundings.
