The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee has completed the investigation of the criminal case against the persons who organized protests among the students of various Minsk universities.

12 people were involved as the accused. Students, a teacher and a member of the so-called coordination council are among them. The organization of protest actions was discussed with Svetlana Tikhanovskaya.

Representatives of these educational institutions were site coordinators, administered thematic telegram channels, personally called for participation in protest actions, produced and distributed leaflets with appeals, managed the participants, were engaged in their preparation and material support, reported on the movements of internal affairs officers.

It was found that constant videoconferences were held to coordinate and discuss issues of holding mass events.

During the protest actions, students blocked corridors and staircases, obstructed the passage of students, teachers and visitors, created noise (loud shouts, whistles, slogans chanting, singing). As a result, the normal work of the educational institution was disrupted and the educational process was broken up.

The unlawful activity of the group was suppressed by the employees of the State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

The investigators questioned the witnesses and the accused. Within the preliminary investigation, searches were carried out, during which mobile and computer equipment was seized, the contents of which were thoroughly analyzed. The results of the law enforcement intelligence operations were studied and attached to the materials of the criminal case.

According to the results of the investigation, the accused were charged under Part 2 Article 17 and Part 1 Article 342 (organization of group actions that grossly violate public order) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. With the approval of the prosecutor, the accused were taken into custody.

The investigation has been completed, the criminal case has been transferred to the prosecutor for referral to the court. Work on the identification and prosecution of other participants of illegal activities of this kind is being carried out.
