We remember and we are proud (photo, video)

On the eve of the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, staff of the Administration of the Investigative Committee for the city of Minsk met the Chairman of the Veterans’ Organisation of Tsentralny District of the capital in one of cinemas of the city.

As Dmitry Konoplyanik, Head of the Administration of the Investigative Committee in and for the city of Minsk, underlined while opening the event, “We, successors of the winners’ generation, should always remember the fallen soldiers and those who survived in the terrible battles, who raised their Motherland from the ruins. We should remember them in order not to allow such horrors to happen again”.

The investigators observe a minute of silence in tribute to the memory of those fallen in the Great Patriotic War.

Speaking to investigators, Nikolay Streletsky, Major General, Chairman of Veterans’ Organisation, told not only about the heroism of the Soviet soldier during the war, but also about those hardships and deprivations, that people faced with after such a long-awaited victory. He noted that “despite the fact that some countries are seeking to rewrite history and distort the horror which the Soviet people faced with during the Nazi aggression, our nation remembers and venerates traditions, as well as supports veterans in every way”.

The event ended by watching a feature film about the events of the Great Patriotic War.
