Last weekend 30 people died from drowning

When the heat has come, people on a massive scale went for a swim to water storages. Over the weekend, investigators have repeatedly went out at the scenes near the rivers and lakes on the reports of drowning. Unfortunately, often, the reasons for such tragedies are people's own negligence in observance of rules of water safety behavior, which in most cases is accompanied with alcohol. Brest Region

On the afternoon of June 20, the body of a deceased 52-year-old resident of Luninets was pulled out of the Pripyat River in Stolin district. It was established that on the afternoon of June 19, the man drank alcohol, after that he went for a swim and drowned while swimming.

On the same day, in the evening, in the Pravaya Lesnaya River of Kamenets district, the body of a deceased man was found. His identity was established, it turned out to be a 74-year-old local resident. In the afternoon, the pensioner's relatives announced his disappearance.

Vitebsk Region

On the evening of June 19, a company of three guys and one girl celebrated a birthday on the bank of an artificial reservoir in Glubokoe district, there they drank alcohol. After a while, a 24-year-old young man went swimming, dived and disappeared. Friends tried to save the guy, but pulled out of the water his breathless corpse.

On the same day, on the evening of June 19, a 37-year-old man came in a state of alcoholic intoxication to Lake Yanovichskoe, located in Vitebsk region. The local resident went for a swim and began to drown. Children became eyewitnesses and began to call adults for help. The man was taken out of the water, but it was not possible to save him.

Gomel Region

In Svetlogorsk, on June 19, a 28-year-old citizen drowned in the Berezina River. The man, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication, in a place not equipped for bathing, went into the river with a dog for a swim.

On June 19, a 32-year-old resident of Zhlobin drowned in Zhlobin region in a reservoir near the village of Chetverni. It was established that on this day he came to the reservoir in the company of his acquaintances to rest and swim, as well as drink alcohol. While swimming, he began to dive and at some point did not come to the surface.

Grodno Region

On the afternoon of June 18, a message was received about the drowning of a 48-year-old resident of Lida district. It was preliminarily established that the local resident was swimming on a lake in the town of Berezovka; at some point, rescuers of OSVOD (Society for Development of Water Transport and Passanger Safety) noticed that the man had disappeared and immediately initiate a search. The body of the deceased was pulled out of the water at a depth of about 3.5 meters.

On the afternoon of June 19, a message was received about the discovery of a woman's corpse in the Schara River in Slonim district.

Her identity was established, it turned out to be an 83-year-old resident of Slonim. It was established that on June 15, relatives of the local resident reported to law enforcement agencies about her disappearance, as the woman suffered from memory lapses and could get lost when she was walking alone.

On the afternoon of June 20, a message was received about the possible drowning of a 42-year-old resident of Grodno.

It was previously established that the man was relaxing on the banks of the Neman River with his family, where he drank alcoholic beverages. During the day, the weather was hot and the man wanted to swim, but his common-law wife was categorically against it, as he was drunk. When the man disappeared, his partner got scared and reported the incident to law enforcement agencies.

During the work at the scene, the investigator interviewed eyewitnesses of the incident, who said that they saw the man swimming in the river, and when he wanted to get out of it, he could not stand on his feet because of the strong current and drowned. Vacationers and fishermen tried to help the local resident, but they failed.

The tragedies in Grodno on the Neman River did not end with that, on the evening of June 20 a man and a woman drowned.

According to preliminary data, a young couple was resting on the banks of the river with their friends. After drinking alcohol, the man offered his girlfriend to teach her to swim, going into the river, he could not keep his balance and fell, the woman fell behind because of the strong current.

Currently, the bodies of the deceased on the Neman River have not been found; OSVOD employees are making a search for them.

Minsk Region

On the evening of June 18 this year, a message was received about the drowning of a 16-year-old resident of Minsk district. According to preliminary information, the young man, together with his younger brother, decided to swim in the Ptich River not far from home. While swimming in the river, the teenager drowned. His 12-year-old brother told about the incident.

According to the investigation, on June 19, the body of a deceased 28-year-old resident of Stolbtsy was found in Lake Polonevichi, Dzerzhinsk district. It was established that the young man was resting with his friend on the shore of the lake, and after drinking alcohol he decided to swim, but the entertainment ended in tragedy – the man drowned.

The next day, a 33-year-old resident of the Minsk district, resting on the bank of the channel of the Vileika-Minsk water system, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication, decided to swim. He dived into the water, but could not come to the surface on his own. His corpse was pulled out of the water by OSVOD employees.

Mogilev Region

According to the investigation, on the morning of June 19, a 57-year-old Mogilev resident drank alcohol with the company on the banks of the Dnieper in the village of Buinichi, afterwards everyone went to swim. At some point, the man dived under the water and did not come to the surface. After some time, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations pulled out his body of the reservoir.

The next day, June 20, a 66-year-old local drowned on a lake in Bobruisk. According to eyewitnesses, the man was swimming, and then abruptly began to sink. He was pulled out of the water, however, despite the resuscitation measures carried out by doctors, it was not possible to save the man. It was established that the deceased suffered from heart disease.

According to the investigation, in the afternoon a 14-year-old girl went to the Basia River in Chausy to bathe her dog. After some time, the relatives could not contact her and went to look for the child. A dog was found tethered near the shore, but the girl was nowhere to be found. During examination of the reservoir, was found her body, which was pulled out of the river by the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

On the same day in Shklov, a father with a 9-year-old son went to swim on the Dnieper River. When the boy was in the water, his father was on the shore and was distracted for a while. At this time, the child began to drown. Later, his body was found and pulled out of the water. It was established that the boy's father was intoxicated.

In each case, investigators arrived at the scenes, where, with the assistance of specialists of the State Forensic Examination Committee, examinations were carried out, the necessary expert studies were assigned, witnesses and eyewitnesses of the incident were interviewed. Investigative departments conduct inspections on each fact. All the circumstances of the incident will be established.
